EMPower commissioned Brightwind, an Irish wind energy analysis consultancy, to perform a preliminary wind resource assessment based on the 2003 SEAI wind map. This report found the proposed Tullaghmore Wind Farm study area to have a Class 2 wind resource. Modelling a 6 turbine layout, the proposed project, if consented, was calculated to produce enough clean, renewable electricity to power over 21,000 Irish homes.
